Research Retreat 2026 | CIDESD Junior

CIDESD Junior is a Research Retreat where young researchers (PhD students) present their postgraduate theses works, share experiences and network, taking advantage of the consortium format.

In 2022, the event also celebrated the 15th CIDESD anniversary. In January 2024, CIDESD Junior was upscaled to a Research Retreat in the “City of Sport” (Rio Maior). In 2025, the event took place at Vila Real alongside the FCT’s evaluation of the research consortium. Lisbon will host the 2026 edition at Universidade Europeia, the institution that most recently joined this R&D unit.

Besides the presentations by young researchers, the Research Retreat 2026 will offer a round-table dedicated to “The Ethical Compass: Navigating Research with Integrity”, a talk approaching the theme “Research on Track: Navigating Trends & Legal Boundaries”, and simulation-based learning scenarios to optimise PhD students research skills. The invited speakers include Professors Adalberto Campos Fernandes, Alexandra Bento, Teresa Santos and Miguel Nery, recognised for their expertise in these fields.
