Four researchers linked to CIDESD have once again been included in the prestigious World’s Top 2% Scientists ranking, promoted by Stanford University. In the “Year” category, the list highlights the scientific impact of:

  • Daniel Marinho – University of Beira Interior
  • Fábio Nakamura – University of Maia
  • Jaime Sampaio – University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro
  • Mário Marques – University of Beira Interior

The ranking is based on standardized citation indicators derived from the Scopus database and is widely recognized as one of the most robust global references for assessing scientific impact across different fields. It provides an objective measure of influence by considering factors such as number of citations, co-authorship patterns and the position of authors in the list of contributors.

Being featured in the “Year” impact list reflects the relevance and visibility of the scientific production of these researchers in the most recent year evaluated, particularly in areas related to sport performance, training methodology, physiology and sport sciences more broadly.

This recognition reinforces the strong international presence of the work conducted within CIDESD and its partner institutions, and underlines the role of its researchers in advancing knowledge, innovation and evidence-based practice in Sport Sciences.
